Politeknik ubaya has sent its lecturer, Yerly A. Datu, S.Pd (currently as the head of Business English Study Program and Secretary Study Program) to a 2009 International Conference of Foreign Language Studies which was held by Hankuk University, Korea on 12 October 2009. At the conference, as Politeknik Ubaya representative, Yerly A. Datu presented his paper entitled “the Potentials of Peer Assesment for Enhancing Students’ Performances in a Presentation Subject”.
The presenters participating in this conference were from Iran, United States, Malaysia, Brunei Darusalam, Hongkong, Korea, India and UK. In addition to it, the presenters from Indonesia were from Politeknik Ubaya, Surabaya and Ahmad Dahlan University, Jogjakarta. It was an extraordinary conference since presenters and audience (approximately 100 participants) were engaged in lively discussions after their presentations.
In the end of the conference, all presenters were honoured to be invited by the President of IFLE, Korea, Prof. Lee (currently as the Secretary of Asia TEFL organization) in a dinner. Surely, this event could be a means of promoting Politeknik Ubaya.
