SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT: A CHALLENGE FOR GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS AND ACADEMIC
Following the enthusiasm and good responses in the previous annual symposium on management, The Department of Management, Faculty of Economics Universitas Surabaya (UBAYA) is pleased to announce the 6th annual symposium which will be held on March 13-14, 2009.
The main theme is “Sustainable Tourism Development: A challenge for Government, Business and Academic”.
We invite researchers, governmental, professionals, students, academics and consultants with interests in hospitality, tourism and related fields.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
- Research or conceptual review papers.
- Empirical papers should follow this format : (1) Title, (2) Author, (3) Abstract, (4) Research Background, (5) Literature Review , (6) Research Methods, (7) Result Discussion, (8) References.
- Conceptual review papers should follow this format : (1) Title, (2) Author, (3) Abstract, (4) Research Background, (5) Literature Review, (6) Discussion, (7) Suggestion for Future Empirical Research, (8) References
- The topic focusing on :
Multi-disciplined Issues Related to Tourism and Tourism Education, Tourism Impact Assessment, Policies and Regulations Affecting Tourism New Tourism for Asia-Pacific, Collaboration with International Tourism Organization, IT Internet aspects of tourism/hospitality/food service, Human resources development educational issues in industry, Financial Management issues in Hospitality Tourism industry. Hospitality Tourism Education, Marketing promotion of tourism/hospitality/food service, MICE Development and Tourism Crisis Management in Tourism Industry, The convention exhibition industry in Asia, Community tourism development rural/farm tourism and any other papers related to the theme of the symposium - Only original manuscripts not previously published or presented at another conference/forum should be submitted.
- Abstract should contain less than 500 words (please use word count function to calculate your words). Abstract are containing main issue(s) of research, research main objective(s), hypothesis(s) if any, sample and data, method of analysis (simple explanation) if any, and result(s). Note: The same template also applies for Bahasa Indonesia research paper. Keyword: separate by comma, contain 5 keywords. Due date for abstract submission: October 30, 2008. Evaluation of abstracts and communication with authors: November 30, 2008
- Final paper submissions should not exceed 15 pages of single space, typed pages (3,500 words). Full papers need to be edited by the final paper format. Due date for abstract submission: January 30, 2008. Papers submitted after the due date will not be included in the proceedings.
- Once the paper is accepted, at least one of authors must register for and present the paper at the symposium. All Authors must attach the curriculum vitae.
- Publication Plan :
Final copies of accepted papers will be professionally published as an edited MABIS Journal with an ISBN. (Acre.). For this symposium, all the authors receive electronic form (CD-ROM) only. - Paper should be written in English or Indonesian.
