Educational Aims, Faculty of Pharmacy Ubaya

To conduct and develop processes of:

  • creativeness, student-centred learning based on a curriculum that is directed to meet the needs of  public services, and developing  knowledge and technology in areas relating to the formulation, development and usage of natural materials to be used as medicines for clinical and community pharmacy
  • learning process with aims to develop:

            - personality, knowledge and competency expertise and innovation as well as social awareness
            - critical thinking and the ability to solve problems and to communicate

  • continuing education that fulfils the challenges and needs of the working world in areas related to the formulation, development and usage of natural materials as medicines for clinical and community pharmacy
  • To increase the quality of human resources through a system of open management that is focussed on developing human potential from an educational origin.

To create a conducive atmosphere that nurtures and stimulates a continuing interest to undertake research
To conduct and develop research studies based on the essential needs of the community in areas related to the formulation, development and usage of natural materials as medicine for clinical and community pharmacy.

Community Services
To conduct and develop pro-active and continuing activities in the field of public education and consultation services, in areas related to the formulation, development and usage of natural materials as medicine for clinical and community pharmacy in an effort to advance peoples’ health
To assist the community in order to help to overcome issues relating to the abuse and misuse of drugs and dangerous medicinal components.

Characteristics and Competency


  • Faculty of Pharmacy Ubaya produces Bachelors (S-1) and Pharmacists with the following characteristics:
  • belief in God
  • possessing high levels of personal integrity, creativity, and community service, to the community, the nation and the people
  • mastering the fundamental concepts of science and technology in the pharmaceutical field
  • competence to implement knowledge and pharmaceutical technology in the field of analysis and the pharmaceutical industry
  • possessing the expertise in standardisation, production and evaluation of the pharmaceutical products quality (drugs, food and beverages, and cosmetics)
  • competence to provide professional pharmaceutical assistance related to clinical and community areas that adhere to constitutional rules and pharmaceutical ethics

Bachelor Degree (S-1)

  • competence to isolate, analyse, identify or synthesize compound that is made from natural or synthetic materials
  • competence to formulate effective, safe, high-quality pharmaceutical products that conform to legal requirements
  • competence to ensure standardization and quality control of raw materials as pharmaceutical agents/products (medicines, food-beverages and cosmetics)
  • competence to undertake chemical and biological analysis
  • take part in ensuring the optimum therapy of drugs.

Pharmacist Programme
At the end of study period or practice, students are assessed as follows:
Written test
Evaluation of Professional working experience on the area of Pharmacies, governmental, hospitals and industries
Hospital or Industrial Evaluation

Students from the Faculty of Pharmacy are considered as registered pharmacist graduates with a minimum GPA of 2.50, with the following conditions:
Have taken 32 credits
Have achieved a minimum “C” grade result in the subject of Pharmaceutical services (subject code: A-0153)
No more than three “D” grade results in all credits

Final Thesis (Skripsi)

A final thesis is a dissertation of scientific and technical writing that is based on the results of: analysis of practical study and field study, research, literature study, comparison studies and a case study that are undertaken by the student under the supervision of lecturers. The final thesis is aimed to:

  • Explore a greater depth of understanding over a specific scientific knowledge
  • Accustom students with the process of dissemination and implementation of scientific knowledge
  • Exercise students in writing scientific dissertation

General Requirements
Faculty of Pharmacy students are eligible to apply for their final thesis proposal if they can meet the following requirements:

  • Have completed 120 SKS with the minimum cumulative GPA (IPKm) is 2.0
  • Have achieved a minimal “C” grade result in the subject of Research Methodology and Statistics (10.5591)
  • Have taken all of the subjects, under the relevant concentration/major that relates with the main topic of the final thesis 
  • Understand and utilise the writing a final thesis reference book released by Faculty

Final thesis presentation
The general requirements of final thesis presentation are as follows:

  • Have participated on the final thesis seminar at least 3 (three) times
  • Have passed the final thesis seminar
  • Have fulfilled all of the administrative obligations
  • Have got approvals from advisor and the relevant Head of Department
  • Submit the final thesis paper at least 7 (seven) days before the presentation
  • The presentation is conducted in seminar with the presentation takes approximately 15 minutes, and continued with a maximum of 75 minutes Q&A session
  • A team of examiners must be at least 3 lecturers, but not more than 4 lecturers. The presentation is managed by a chairman or a secretary selected from the team 

Evaluation or Assessment

  • The general guidance for the final thesis evaluation is as follows:
  • The maximum grade for final thesis paper is 60%. Evaluation points include material, methodological, writing technique, language presentation, and implementation of research
  • The maximum grade for final thesis presentation is 40 %. Evaluation points include the ability to defence the thesis, and to disseminate the knowledge
  • The final raw score is an average score measured from the raw score provided by respective examiners
  • Conversion of final raw score into Grade (Nilai relative-NR) and the category of graduate are defined in the following table

Bachelor Degree (S-1)

Student is considered as a graduate from Bachelor Degree of Faculty of Pharmacy Ubaya with the following conditions:

  • Have taken the minimum of 150 SKS
  • The minimum GPA (IPK) of 2.00
  • The “D” grade results achieved are less than 20 % from total of 150 SKS
  • Have achieved a minimum “C” grade result in the following subjects:
  • All subjects relate to the final thesis topic

                    - Entrepreneurships (10.4592)

  • The TOEFL score of 450

Student Activities

Student could participate on numerous student activities including curricular and extracurricular activities as well as participate on student organisation including Student Representative Council, Faculty of Pharmacy (DPM-FF), Student Executive Board, Faculty of Pharmacy (BEM-FF), and Student Club at faculty and university level.
